2020 has been quite the year so far. With a global pandemic, mandatory shutdowns, and a tragic hit to the economy; many small businesses have suffered a huge loss in profits and sadly, some have even permanently closed. Many are looking to the holidays to make up for lost revenue during the pandemic and are hopeful that this can start their rebuilding process.

Over 200 local vendors and artists showcase their artwork, jewelry, apparel, photography, handmade gifts, and more here at this seasonal art show. Admission is free and open to the public but there is a reservation system in place to maintain occupancy limits and ensure social distancing. This year, they are offering 4 different ways to shop and support local businesses. You have the option to shop in-store, shop online with shipping, shop online with a pick-up option, or let the Genies work their magic with a personal shopper at the Bazaar.

The Burlap Bag is a small business run by Josiah and Lauren Lowe in Austin, Texas. They began making candles a few years ago and have a passion for great scents and silly names for their products. The candles that they make are 100% vegan and cruelty-free and have a burn life of 70+ hours. They also sell wax melts, room sprays, and even offer a monthly candle subscription. These delicious-smelling candles would make a perfect gift for someone this holiday season.

The Paper + Craft Pantry is Austin’s first and only locally-owned and woman-owned retail paper shop. Before the pandemic, they offered in-person workshops but now they offer workshop kits that you can purchase online and be shipped as a gift or to yourself for a fun crafty night at home with friends. Natalie Tischler, an Austin native jewelry designer, made jewelry as a hobby for twelve years before starting Ornamental Things in 2004. She makes beautiful handcrafted necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets that would make a great gift. Also, 10% of all her sales are donated to a local charity or organization which is amazing because it is always good to see a small business owner giving back to the world.
